Captain Marvel arrives

No, it’s not Wonder Woman or Black Widow… It’s Marvel Comics’ newest addition to the big screen: Captain Marvel. I have to appreciate the following that these movies have.

While they’re not my go to Friday night flick, when I do watch them they’re action-packed, creatively driven and sprinkled with jokes.

Because Brie Larson’s character Carol Danvers is so new, I couldn’t find many socks to sport in celebration, however, there’s plenty of other Marvel socks to get you excited about the spring reveal of this movie.

Stick with your one true love Captain America or shop a variety on Cartoon Heroes.

Pair of Thieves – FINALLY on amazon

I’ve been waiting for quite a while for this and it’s sorta kinda here. PAIR OF THIEVES IS ON AMAZON Well… only kinda. They have a few items listed, but not a ton. And only some of them ship via prime….so it’s only a small step in the right direction. I’d love to see more listed and hopefully that is the direction they are heading!

I have quite a few of their socks now, they are officially my favorite socks and as I’m writing this, I have a pair on. I wear them to work, not at work, hanging out, to play basketball or almost any sport except soccer. I even have matching pairs, yes they make mom and me or dad and me pairs, for my son and me! They are super comfy and I could go on and on about their “Sneaky Performance”, but seriously they are one of the better socks I’ve found. I’ve had my first pair for over 3 years now and still wear them, they are still holding up!! Crazy. Price wise, Target is probably cheaper since they go on sale, and pairofthieves.com has a better selection, but amazon still has a few woth checking out.

I also own both their types of underwear, their SuperFit and SuperSoft and can recommend them too! Their boxer briefs are my go to and I have some on my Christmas list! Even their undershirts are super freakin soft!!! Really I’d have more of everything they make if their prices were a little lower, so I get most on sale if I can, or wait and buy some here and there! So if you haven’t, go try some! You won’t regret it!

Modern Motif – Haberdashery socks

With the holiday season in full swing, what better stocking stuffer than…well, stockings (aka socks)? And what better socks than awesome ones? And…well you get where I’m going with this. I found some pretty awesome socks and think their packaging as well as the socks themselves would make a great holiday gift.

Socks work great as a work gift, for secret Santa gift exchanges, or even for white elephant gift exchanges. They are always needed, everyone wears them, and who doesn’t want a splash of color in their outfit? These socks by Modern Motif are pretty interesting and have something for anyone on your Christmas, Chanukah, or other holiday list! Modern Motif also sells quite a few other goodies like ties, bow ties, and matching sets with a handkerchief. The sets range from single socks, two pairs, up to full sets for 6 groomsmen! They even have wooden bow ties with matching socks! What more could a dapper Dan ask for!

The Most Wonderful Socks of the Year

Holiday socks come in all shapes and sizes. It’s important to have comfort while shopping or running last minute errands in the slushy snow. It’s also important to have the most stylish high knee/jingle bell socks for the Christmas office party. We have a great variety from Amazon for you, your secret Santa, or any family member or friend.

Most of these picks are under $20 so you can still show some holiday spirit without spending too much. My favorite is the vintage winter socks from YZKKE because the thicker the better! They’re great for hikes, a cold night in a tent while camping or just when you don’t want to turn the heat too high. My second favorite is the Coxeer slipper/socks because my feet are almost always cold while I’m lounging around the house.

I hope these holiday sock suggestions bring you all the cheer!

Ralph or The Grinch?

I don’t know about you, but once the weather turns I’m ready to hunker down and watch a good movie. Disney released Ralph Breaks The Internet during the week of Thanksgiving on Nov. 21. Start holiday shopping early with these fun, movie-themed socks for children from Planet Sox.

Still want to strut style from your favorite kids’ movie? Snag this simply designed unisex pair from YOYUPRO with Ralph wreckin’ it. They’re short enough to keep it cool in the office, but also comfortably made with wool, cotton, polyester, and spandex for shoe sizes 6 to 12.

If you really want to get in the Christmas, er-, anti-Christmas spirit, wearing socks with the grouchy Grinch is the way to go. Not everyone wants to admit that he’s a holiday staple or the best of Dr. Seuss’s creations. While there are probably dozens of styles and designs for Grinch-themed socks, we chose the best ones for you. If that’s the case, hide your love of the green troublemaker with a variety pack from Film & TV, costume socks from elope, or the classic Grinch from Stance for men.

Whether you’re a Ralph breaking the bank this holiday season, always remember what Cindy Lou Who said, “No matter how different a Who may appear, he will always be welcome with holiday cheer.'”

Spooky Halloween Socks

The best thing about wearing socks is that you can emit your true feelings – even if it pertains to the time of the month or year. As soon as October 1 hits and the leaves start to drop, it’s time to pull out thicker, warmer and spookier socks.

Excell offers a variety of patterns and colors for even the most indecisive shopper. For under $25, depending on the pack, they offer a cute novelty selection, the everyday ankle sock to get you through all five spooky work days and a knee-high style.

Last minute costume? Socks make all the difference.

Red and white stripes: Where’s Waldo?

Black and yellow striped: A buzzing bee

Black and white striped: A prisoner, sports game referee or a robber!

The options are endless and so are the lengths.

Maybe Halloween isn’t your thing, but you still want to spice up the day-to-day office look.. There’s definitely some subtle looks for that. What’s scarier? Frankenstein or skeletons? Regardless, Good Luck Sock has a great selection for whatever scary celebrity you choose.

Washington Capitals Dress Socks!

Hockey season is back, thank god!  So I decide I wanted to rep my local team, who happens to be the Stanley cup winners of this past season, the Washington Capitals!!! C-A-P-S! CAPS, CAPS, CAPS!!

Went ahead and looked for some good socks and found quite a few options, and some of the better looking ones are below. There are a few knee high options, numerous unisex dress socks and some low cut socks.

I lean toward the dress socks so I ordered a pair of awesome Capitals dress socks and they’ll be here in a couple days thanks to Amazon Prime (btw they have a 30 day free trial!) I’ll be sure to post a review of them once I get them and have tried them out! I’ve never purchased this brand so hopefully they are up to snuff! The seller also has other NHL teams and the socks look pretty good – the Penguins, Leafs, Bruins, Oilers, the list goes on! I definitely recommend all NHL fans to take a look for their team. There’s nothing like sporting your team socks while in a suit or business attire.

A few of my others favorites are below. If you own any Washington Capitals dress socks or can recommend any, let me know! I’m always on the lookout for some awesome socks!

Sock of the week: Merino Hiking Socks

Went hiking two weekends ago on the Appalachian Trail (AT) just for a quick overnight and wore some amazing Merino wool socks. They were light weight, cushioned, REI hiking socks. It rained on the one day and was pretty hot the next, but my feet kept dry. If they did get wet, the socks dried extremely quickly. I wore them both days, just let them air out in the tent and they were good to go the next day. I naturally went looking for a cheaper version and found these Darn Tough awesome socks.

I got these and decided to take a quick day hike to try them out. It was only a 5.5 mile loop, didn’t rain, and was only low 70’s, but they still worked great. Just as comfy, if not a little bit more than my other pair. Merino wool is light and a great alternative to cotton. It keeps warm when it gets wet and also dries pretty quickly. I’d highly recommend these Merino wool Hiking socks. They get the Awesome Socks seal of approval!

Sock of the week: Bazinga!

Just got done watching an episode of the Big Bang Theory, the one with Howard’s Bachelor party, and Sheldon says Bazinga a ton. Made me think about these pretty awesome socks.

There are actually a ton of different versions of Bazinga! socks on Amazon, some prime eligible some not. Some short with 5 to a pack and some with knee high ones. But if you are gonna go knee high, go knee high with a cape. I mean, seriously.

See ya next week!
